celebrating our culture

Founded in Healdsburg in 2021, YOLOTL Community Folk Ballet was created by Yolanda Girón to bring people together through dance after the challenges of the pandemic. Today, the group welcomes dancers of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate the beauty of traditional Mexican folklórico while strengthening community connections.

Labor of Love

Every rehearsal, performance, and event is made possible through the dedication of volunteers who believe in serving the community through culture, education, and connection.

OUR MISSION

What Makes YOLOTL Special

All Ages Welcome

Our ballet includes participants from 3 to 70 years old, creating a unique space where children, youth, and adults can learn and perform together.

Cultural Connection

Dancers learn more than choreography — they also discover the history, music, and traditional attire of the regions represented in each performance.

Community Impact

YOLOTL performs throughout the year at parades, festivals, schools, churches, and cultural events, proudly sharing Mexican traditions across Sonoma County.

Community support

YOLOTL is proud to partner with Latinos Unidos of Sonoma County and to receive support through the Living Cultures Grant, helping us expand workshops, performances, and costumes that keep these traditions alive for future generations
